Services
TLC accepts self-referred and physician referred patients.
Referrals to TLC may be a patient with one or more of the following:
- Severe lipid/lipoprotein abnormalities
- Difficulty reaching lipid goals
- Previous cardiovascular event or known atherosclerosis
- Metabolic syndrome/insulin resistance
- Difficulty tolerating lipid lowering medications
- Need for multiple lipid lowering therapies
- Adults and Children with a strong family history for cardiovascular disease
- Pediatric lipid disorders
- Patients interested in state of the art advanced testing and risk assessment for cardiovascular disease
- Patients intolerant or unwilling to take medications despite having high cholesterol
Services provided include:
- Comprehensive Individualized cardiovascular risk assessment and treatment plans
- Comprehensive treatment of lipid disorders including medication, diet and exercise recommendations
- Advanced lipid testing
- Omega-3 index testing
- Atherosclerosis biomarker testing
- Diagnosis and treatment of genetic lipid disorders
- Carotid Intima Media Thickness measurement testing by B-mode ultrasound
- Coronary Artery Calcium Scoring
**TLC provides consultation and medical management services limited to lipid disorders. All other medical services must be obtained through the patient’s primary care provider.
